United Utilities delivers Christmas early with donations to local charities
Teams at Mossley and Bolton’s wastewater treatment works have donated over £1500 worth of toys to two local children’s charities, while Chorley’s Better Rivers team have donated much needed food items to the Chorley Food Bank.
The multi-faceted team is made up of staff from United Utilities and Mott McDonald Bentley (MMB), and the collaborative duo work year-round on our wastewater treatment sites and protecting and enhancing our river quality through the Better Rivers scheme. The groups also prioritise working with and giving back to the communities through local fundraising and giving events – Christmas being a key time to rally the troops to share the festive feeling and encourage donations from all.
The toy donations included musical instruments, footie goals, and arts and crafts. Chorley food bank also received much needed tinned and longer life items to go in Christmas boxes, supporting individuals and families who may need some extra help at this time of year.
United Utilities is committed to giving back to the community and the environment, supporting local initiatives and schemes that protect people and place. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
