Meter reading service
United Utilities Water offers a commercial meter reading service which is available to all Retailers operating within the United Utilities Water region. Retailers are under no obligation to use the Services provided by United Utilities Water and are free to procure their own services from independent providers.
The service provides Retailers with cyclic and non-cyclic meter readings and passive AMR data.

United Utilities offers a chargeable service to provide regular AMR data to retailers.
Retailers will need to ‘opt-in’ to receive AMR data. For those choosing to opt in, Terms & Conditions (PDF 116 KB opens in a new window) will apply.

Please note that United Utilities offers a commercial meter reading service which is available to all Retailers operating within the United Utilities Water region. Retailers who are signed up to this service will receive AMR data under the terms of that agreement and will therefore not need to sign up separately to receive AMR data.
ADVANCED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE OR SMART METERING DATA
Throughout AMP 8, United Utilities plan to exchange all Non-Household Meters within our area. For all Smart AMI enabled meters we will send hourly reads (as a minimum) to the Smart Meter Read Hub within 48 hours of the meter read date/time. Retailers will be able to view all of the meter read data via the Smart Meter Read Hub.
