Open consultation: updating Ofwat’s charging rules document
First of all, thank you to those who responded to Ofwat’s last consultation on the scope and balance of developer charges and incentives. The response window for this has now closed and we await Ofwat’s determinations.
On Tuesday, Ofwat issued another consultation which includes proposed changes to its charging rules.
The rules include reference to information that we present in our charges document. We have been contributing to a Water UK charges group who have been looking at standardising some charging terminology and the worked examples that companies are required to publish. Ofwat have asked us to discuss these proposals with you before responding to the consultation. As we have around 40 definitions and detailed worked examples, we would like to request a few volunteers from developers, SLPs and NAVs who would be willing to spend some time reviewing the proposals with us so we can gather your feedback to help form our response to the consultation.
The consultation window is very tight therefore we are proposing a bolt-on session to the Water Technical Forum which is being held on Tuesday 15th June at 1:30-3:00pm. We would be very grateful to any volunteers who would be happy to reconvene with us following the forum at 3:15pm to discuss Ofwat’s proposals.
The consultation can be found on Ofwat’s website.
Ofwat would also welcome feedback directly from stakeholders should you wish to offer your own response.
